The Worcester Men of Song

Charter TV3 has produced a one-hour program from the Men of Song Annual Show, "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year." The program is scheduled to air in twenty-seven time slots over the Charter TV3 cable channel as follows:
Saturday, December 5, 12, & 19; 9:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Sunday. December 6, 13, & 20; 9:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Tuesday, December 8; 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Wednesday, December 9, 16, & 23; 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Thursday, December 24; 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Friday, December 25; 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Every Monday through Friday, 12:00 Noon - 1:00 PM

HOT! That's the only way to describe this year's concert on August 16th at Riverbend Farm in Uxbridge. The temperature was in the nineties and not a breath of fresh air. In spite of what would have to be termed very, very uncomfortable conditions, the chorus presented an entertaining program. Certainly the weather had a lot to do with attendance as the audience was smaller than usual, but no less appreciative than the larger audiences we usually enjoy there. It should be noted that they have already booked us again for next year.

Again blessed with fine weather, the chorus entertained a nice assembly of local residents in the park "behind the fire station" on the bandstand. Earlier in the day a threat of a thunderstorm was forecasted, but it didn't materialize. Those who may recall our concert there three years ago will remember that we shortened our concert by one song, and were barely off the bandstand as "the heavens opened up" with a deluge of pelting rain. Not so this year. Good music, good crowd, good weather, and a good time was had by all.

The Tower Hill Botanic Gardens concert was held on August 4th, a perfect evening for enjoying a concert, and was held at one of the prettiest places you can imagine. A light breeze blowing up from the Wachusett Reservoir made the temeperature (hovering in the upper 70's) very comfortable. With more than 500 in attendance the Men of Song rose to the occasion and provided entertainment that was very much appreciated. In short, it was a great cencert.

The recreation committee has invited us to perform.

The show will be at 6:00 PM on August 10th ... rain date is August 12th.
